April 11 - Chalk the Välk! 

7:30 am - 3:15 pm, Lindsborg KS

An exciting spring event returns to Lindsborg! Four and a half miles of "canvas" on the Välkommen Trail for artists of all ages to imagine and create! Come to create or to explore! 

Artist David Zinn well be joining in the imaginative atmosphere.

What will your imagination put on the trail? 

Registration required for participation--all are welcome to participate! 

 

MAY 2026

May 8 - Marshall Wine and Art Festival

5 - 9 pm, Marshall IL

Public Chalk Art Demonstration 5:30-7:00

Raise a glass to small-town charm at the Marshall Wine and Art Festival in downtown Marshall, Illinois! This festive gathering pairs Illinois wines with works by local and regional artists, filling historic spaces and sidewalks with tasting tables, art displays, and live music. Visitors can sip samples, shop for handcrafted pieces, and enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere that showcases the creative spirit and hospitality of this “big little town.” David Zinn will be on site creating original artwork and interacting with festival attendees. Many crafting activities for kids, including a chalking area!


 

JUNE 2026

June 6 - Chalk the Walk

10:00 am - 2:00 pm, Grand Haven MI

Join us for a vibrant celebration of creativity at Chalk the Walk. The sidewalks of Centertown will transform into a colorful canvas as kids and local artists unleash their imagination through sidewalk chalk drawings! Come marvel at the artistic creativity of our participants as they transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. David Zinn will be returning to draw on the sidewalks of Grand Haven for the first time in twelve years!

 

June 12, 14, 21, 23, 28 - Ann Arbor Summer Festival

David Zinn will be searching out inspirational opportunities on the sidewalks of Ingalls Mall and creating chalk installations for an all-ages audience of festival attendees. Hours and locations vary and are weather-dependent. https://www.a2sf.org/

 

June 27 - Indianapolis Public Library "Day of Play"

10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Indianapolis Central Library Branch, Indianapolis IN

To celebrate the summer reading program theme "Play Your Way," the Indianapolis Public Library will be hosting a single day festival style event at our Central Library showcasing the many ways to play in both indoor and outdoor spaces. David Zinn will be on hand to create an original ephemeral chalk installation on the steps of the library, and chalk will be available for patrons to create their own temporary masterpieces!

 

JULY 2026

July 16-18 - "Chalk the Walk" at the Ann Arbor Art Fair

1:00-3:00 pm on July 16 and 18 at 200 E. Liberty Street; other times & locations TBD

Chalk the Walk features Ann Arbor’s own world-renown Artist David Zinn. Recognized globally for his clever and improvised chalk street art, Zinn will be creating his original temporary chalk work live during each day of the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair event now in two locations!

Sidewalk chalk will be available so that fairgoers can join in on the creativity and add their own mark on this year’s Ann Arbor Art Fair.


 

July 25 - Berkeley Street Fest

11:00-4:00 on Coolidge Highway between Catalpa and Beverly, Berkley MI

As part of Berkley's day-long celebration of public art which includes a judged chalk art competition, music, food trucks and a KidZone, David Zinn will be creating a pop-up chalk installation on Coolidge Highway in the morning and then explaining his techniques in a public art workshop and demonstration from 1:00-2:30 pm. 

 

July 30 - Three Pines Studio Chalk Art Demo and Workshop

1:00-2:30 pm at Three Pines Studio, 5959 W. Levering Rd, Cross Village MI

David shares his whimsical and innovative sidewalk art. Make the world your canvas! Artist David Zinn has charmed millions of followers worldwide with his whimsical and innovative sidewalk art!

David will show you how to create your own ephemeral masterpieces underfoot using chalk, charcoal and an unfettered imagination.

Be prepared to kneel, stoop or sit; kneepads or towels may be useful. All other materials are included. 8+ years old.

Class size is limited, register early. Cost $50 (includes materials)

 

SEPTEMBER 2026

September 5 - Maxwell Street Art Days

10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Ontonagon MI (workshop 2:00 - 3:00 pm)

The public is invited to grab some chalk and beautify River Street in Ontonagon! This fun and artsy event brings all types of creative minds together, and the results are always spectacular. David Zinn will be creating his trademark "hidden creatures" on site and leading a chalk art workshop at 2:00 pm.
